Soil life, not a recipe

A soil microbiome is the living crowd around a root: bacteria, fungi, protozoa. The plant leaks sugars; they trade minerals, water, and signals. That zone is the rhizosphere. A living soil does not make popping a cannabis seed legal in the UK without a licence.

Bacteria mineralise nitrogen. Fungi, including mycorrhizae, extend the root for phosphorus and water. The whole mess buffers pH and competes with what rots a stem in a wet September.

Mould score first

A mould score on a Scouse page is not a bottle of microbes. Durban Poison Bx2 and Lambs Bread finish in weather we actually have; the plant’s cuticle and structure do most of the work. Soil life can help a root sit in a cold, wet mix. It does not rewrite an 11–14 week equatorial flower into a North-West outdoor.

We run soil and coco, indoor and outdoor, to understand the cross. Coco is a substrate you feed. Soil is a substrate that also eats. Same genetics, different reaction norm — polygenic traits, not a tea.
